a. About TOLES Advanced certificate

• Time provided: 120 minutes
• Skills tested: reading, writing and draft, knowledge of register and business idioms
• Focus: practical reading, writing and drafting in authentic legal situation
• General English level: B2
• Score: The maximum score possible at Higher level is 500
• Cerrtificate: TOLES Advanced certificate with score explanation. The TOLES Advanced exam provides six progressive marks intended for assessing legal English exclusively for those legal experts whose mother tounge is not English.
• Gold (451-500): the candidate has excellent knowledge of general English and excellent knowledge of legal English.
• Orange (401-450): the candidate has very good knowledge of general English and very good knowledge of legal English.         
• Red (301-400): the candidate has good knowledge of general English and good knowledge of legal English.
• Purple (201-301)1: the candidate has above-average knowledge of general English and satisfactory knowledge of legal English.+
• Blue (101-200)1: the candidate probably has only above-average knowledge of general English and only satisfactory knowledge of legal English.
• Green (0-100)1: the candidate might have basic knowledge of general English and only basic knowledge of legal English.

c. Learners

• Those who have taken Intermediate course or TOLES Higher course.
• Those whose general English is adequate to register for TOLES Higher course (2-skill TOEIC at least 800, or IELTS at least 6.0)
• Those who have never taken TOEIC or IELTS, but whose result in the H&M entrance is at least B2.

d. Course overview

• The TOLES Advanced exam was created and developed in cooperation with leading law offices and is considered a golden standard of success in legal English. TOLES Advanced exam was originally created at the request of the major law offices in London which wanted a legal English testing method for international lawyers and new associates in their international offices.
• The TOLES Advanced exam aims to test candidates' language skills in comparison with lawyers whose mother tounge is English. Candidates who achieve good scores at the advanced level, show they understand how important total precision in law working environment is, and that they also possess an excellent understanding of professional legal vocabulary. 
• Practice exams will be held once a month to help the learners become familiar with the feelings and pressure of sitting in the exam room. These exams will also be used to evaluate the learners' level and progress in order to help them well-prepared for the real TOLES Advanced exam.
